UNMISTAKABLY OLD And doing pretty well considering Ann G Thomas EdD 9781634910941 Books Reviews

I loved this book. It made me feel so good about the idea of changing age and times…In these days of accelerated change it is good to have a view with humor and perspective. I enjoyed this as my morning read and want to start over...Thanks Ann
LOVED this book! Ann Thomas is a singular, articulate and witty voice for 'women of a certain age'. Her brief, very-readable chapters are filled with insight, humor and wry observations; a voice of experience coping with the challenges presented by an ever-changing world. I made a gift of this wisdom, by proxy, to many of my contemporaries. They haven't stopped thanking me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I totally enjoyed this book. Each chapter consists of several thematically related columns, syndicated over the years. I realized after beginning this book, that each story was so charming, and at times laugh-out-loud funny, I had to slow down, and savor each tale as if it was a fine chocolate. I am of the age that makes it all-to-easy to relate to each story, but the magic of Ann Thomas's writing is that it will appeal to many far younger than me!!
“Unmistakably Old” by Ann G Thomas, Ed.D.

Written with Humor and Style, Ann G Thomas has given us a gift.
Age does wear on our bones, but it does not need to wear out our funny bone! That is the one bone that can bounce and flex and come alive with the freedom of age!

So many times I have visited ‘mature’ relatives and friends to find myself laughing at the candor and cageyness of those lined, sweet (and sometimes grouchy) faces. Reading Ms. Thomas’s book brought the same smile to my face from first to last page.

You can travel with her to the neighborhood, to the doctor, to the shops finding a new way, with her guidance, to look at things.
If you are feeling like a cranky-pants today, it is an extra great day to read this book and put a smile on your face and in your heart.

If you are not “Unmistakably Old”, at this point in your life, it may be even more pleasant than you think, and worth the wait. Take heart!
I dashed through this book, chuckling and gasping, until I finished. Then I went back to the beginning and have been rereading each chapter slowly to savor the wit and wisdom. I sent this to my two cousins - both of whom match me in being unmistakably old. They enjoyed it as much as I did, and we agree that our moms - who lived lively lives until they died in their late 80s - would have been roaring with laughter on every page.
In her latest book, “Unmistakably Old,” Dr. Ann Thomas addresses the needs of a sorely under-represented population. With wit, more than a pinch of humor, and carefully avoiding any nostalgic pining for the good old days, the book evokes a sense of recognition in any Unmistakably Old reader. Dr. Thomas subtly confronts some of the more convoluted and frantic aspects of today’s society that could use simplification and a slower pace of living. She looks back at a time when there were fewer brands of cereal to make us reel from over-choice and when the kindly family doctor paid leisurely house calls.

I purchased several of these books as gifts for my other unmistakably old friends!
